Potterville Pottery began as one man's inspiration to bring his love of clay to his local community in greater Springfield, MA. In 1996, Stuart Davis, currently a resident of Agawam, rented a suite in an old, brick school-house and opened a part-time studio that offered novices the opportunity to try making their own pieces on the pottery wheel. The less adventurous painted original designs on Davis' hand-thrown pieces. And, some found their forte in hand-building or sculpting with clay. Soon, Potterville Pottery was buzzing with locals who found that painting pottery and working with clay was a great way to relax and enjoy some leisure time.Today, Potterville Pottery is a full-time studio owned by one of Davis' original customers, Laura Frasco, a West Springfield resident. Honoring her love for Potterville Pottery and staying true to Davis' vision, Frasco has preserved the open nature of the studio, catering to walk-in customers who want to paint hand-thrown pieces, try their own hand at the pottery wheel or sculpt their own piece. She has added popular paint-your-own items, such as animal, sea-life, and fantasy figurines.Read more
