Welcome to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. See some of Claude Monet's most beautiful paintings in the ravishing presentation Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River. More than 50 masterpieces of Impressionism�from collections all over the world�follow Monet as he explores, from every angle, the iconic river in France that inspired him throughout his life. Treasures from Korea offers a glorious opportunity to explore the arts and culture of the celebrated Joseon dynasty, an era that profoundly shaped the culture of Korea in ways that continue to resonate today. We are also pleased to share with Houston masterworks from Kuwait's renowned al-Sabah Collection, one of the world's greatest collections of Islamic art. As you may know, works from the MFAH collections fill the galleries year-round with art embracing every era of history across the globe. Important additions to the Museum's silver holdings are on view in Silver: An American Art, and Shadows on the Wall presents evocative photographs created without the use of a camera. Our series highlighting Modern and Contemporary Art features major paintings and sculptures that span the early 20th century to the present. Take advantage of the ever-changing calendar of events brimming with activities for all ages throughout the Museum, including the Glassell School of Art and our two house museums: Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens and Rienzi.We offer a number of ways to enjoy the Museum for free. For example, the Lunch + Look program provides free same-day general admission on weekdays from noon to 2 p.m. with your receipt from the on-site food truck or Cafe Express. Museum members receive free general admission every day, and Family-level memberships include the children in the household. Children 12 and younger are always admitted free, and on weekends all children receive free general admission when they show their card from any Texas public library. General admission is free for everyone on Thursdays, courtesy of Shell.For me, the Museum is a place of wonder and enlightenment, as I hope it is for you.
