My work is inspired both by my studies in mythology, symbolism and ritual ... as well as my own experience of living a somewhat serendipitous life, in spite of the common hardships we all face (you know: loss, grief, anxiety, selfishness, depression, addiction, divorce, insanity.. some of us more than others - but we all have our struggles :D). I make monsters as metaphors for humanity. For those elusive things that pull us through, carry us when we can't see a way. I am inspired by those things that compel us to stretch our boundaries, expand our capabilities and strengthen our spirits in order to grow and serve others growth on this magical journey of life. Usually these things are simply the daily activities of life and the people we share them with. Dancing, doing yoga, going for a walk, eating good food, hugging, playing the ukelele... What a gift we have! A complex and mysterious one which we can squander or relish - and we do both! I hope my Art helps articulate the mystery and rouse the creator in us. But mostly, I hope my art inspires playfulness, smiles, laughter, and dreaming big in others.Read more
