Art & Clay on Main is one of Lancaster's most treasured places. When Fairfield DD first purchased the business it was primarily a paint-your-own pottery and bisqueware studio that also sold art and handmade jewelry pieces. Since the beginning, the staff has included people with disabilities. Blue Shoe Arts, FairfieldDD's accessible arts program for adults with disabilities, moved to the creative space in July 2010. In the past four years so many exciting changes have been made. A visit to 150 W. Main Street now includes glass fusion, art classes for children, summer art camps, wet clay instruction, an eclectic retail area a more extensive line of bisqueware to be painted. AfterSchool Art, designed to fill the art education void from public school programs, was added in the Fall of 2012. In May 2013, Square Seven Coffee House opened as Lancaster's first full service coffee bar, offering specialty coffee and tea drinks as well as sandwiches, soups, pastries and fruit smoothies. Visitors to 150 W. Main Street also can enjoy live music throughout the month, partake in special events, interact with adults in our community living with disabilities and contribute to the overall success of historic downtown Lancaster.Read more
